Post-test

Happy birthdays to Bianca and Russell.

Do not ask me about your essays till next week; I will be marking them over the weekend. In the meantime, you guys should be keeping your eyes peeled for any authors/book/works which were published between end of 19th Century to 1945.

I will try to get a list out of authors to watch for by next week.

Also, we should get Murder on the road, so bring your copies for annotation next week.

Pieces We Have Done

Hello, Bianca sent a message on the pieces that we have done, so I thought it would be more convenient to have a list of the pieces we have done here.

- "Hills Like White Elephants" by Ernest Hemingway
- "Reunion" by John Cheever
- "Second Tree from the Corner" by EB White
- The extract taken from Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce
- The extract taken from "Dead as they come" by Ian McEwan
- "Men are different"

- From Waiting for Godot
- From Act Without Words
- "Fade To Black"

- The Hollow Men

(I am leaving out "Louis and Dave" -- it doesn't offer much scope in discussion.I am leaving out Kafka as well since it is translated lit.)

From the lectures,

"The Babysitter", "A Continuity of Parks"
(I need to check with Ms Champagne about using these two pieces though.)

If I have missed out anything from this list, please drop a comment. Teachers are often forgetful because of the ten thousand things we have to juggle in our brains.
